Nings

Nings are a social network--just like Facebook, MySpace, or (back in the dark ages), Friendster. What do you think makes Nings better than other social networks? What are their weaknesses?

Do you think Nings might be useful in an educational setting? How can you imagine using them in your academic classes?

  1. Nings are good because anyone can pretty much join, if they have the time to kill. They make things better just because it makes it easier for people to make social networking sites. That answer is a straight up yes because if a school lets say wants to set up a Ning then they set one up and invite all the teachers, and the teachers can communicate and also possibly put homework on their, and the students would join that Ning to, it could be like our Forman school website.

  2. I think nings are more bendable like more editable and fun. Also the world is smaller like face book really is exposed to the world but nings are exposed only to hoom is invited. I dont really see iny weaknesses to it im suer there are some but at the moment alls awsome. I think in a class of good students a ning would be awsome. Like for my math class if their was a ning then id fined it a lot ezer tho to communicate with the teacher out side of class especially if the teacher dosent live on campus. And nings have IM so you can talk live but i dount think every body in my class would take it serusly and i think id crash like a plane out of gas above the sea.

  4. nings could go either way, they could be a huge hastle trying to keep clean. the plus side is that they could be able to do group projects online and make things more clean and more proficient.
