Memes

Some people think that the Internet is lessening connections between people--individuals go online, find like-minded communities, and stay in their "bubble." There is also an argument that if all of us find a like-minded community to be a part of, there are fewer shared experiences on which to build our culture.

Do you think this is true? Does the existence of Internet memes challenge those assumptions about online communication? Or do certain memes just become popular in certain groups?

  1. No I don't think so because that's just online. I think it's because some people are different when online, for example... If they are in a bubble and it's only because that bubble doesn't want anyone else on it that's not part of that group. Some people don't mind who joins a group like on Facebook, when someone creates a group people who are on Facebook can just join it. So actually I guess it's just a yes and no answer. It all just depends on what social networking site it's being used on.

  2. I would think it dous make like little bubls that might revolv around such a small amount of people that people would never stunble into iny thing elts or iny one elts and only lear by building on what they know. But like thos cases you here of the child finding its parents 20 years later takes the internet or normaly dous. But, some one that likes the same stuff might join and youd meet them and becom frends only becaus of the internet sents lets say they live in rusha and youd probebly never go there. So in the end like lots of things i think its realy a 50/50 thing that if its only half you life and the other is realtiy than all is good, in my opinyon.
